Located alongside Longen Canal within a residential neighborhood, Minzu Park had gradually deteriorated over time, with aging facilities and limited accessibility. As part of Hsinchu City's pedestrian-oriented urban renewal initiative, the park was comprehensively revitalized to create a safer, more inclusive, and people-centered public space.
A former circular basketball court set within the existing tree grove was creatively transformed into a one-of-a-kind circular swing playground, providing a distinctive recreational feature for local residents. Previously uneven pathways and areas prone to water accumulation were redesigned and upgraded to achieve full barrier-free accessibility throughout the park.
The renewal of Minzu Park demonstrates the principles of a walkable city, creating a welcoming neighborhood environment where people of all ages can comfortably gather, play, exercise, and enjoy everyday life in a greener and more accessible public space.
