Taipei City Hall Bus Station
Located within the Xinyi Special District, Taiwan’s first large-scale urban development to integrate land readjustment, comprehensive urban design, and design review regulations, the Taipei City Hall Bus Station serves as a major transportation hub and social connector within the capital’s premier commercial district.
Inspired by the traditional role of a transit station as a place of gathering and exchange, the project embraces an open and welcoming design language. Unlike many landmark buildings in the district that emphasize monumentality, the architecture and landscape create a more inclusive and human-centered environment through the integration of water features, greenery, and public open spaces.
Functioning as both a transportation gateway and a civic destination, the project encourages interaction between people and the city, transforming everyday movement into a vibrant urban experience and contributing to the dynamic character of Taipei’s metropolitan core.
